Until recently, it was commonly believed that fascial tissue was inert. That movement was only possible if it was attached to other motorized tissues such as muscles and was being pulled along.  But research conducted in 2019 proved that fascial tissue was itself motorized. The paper titled Fascia Is Able to Actively Contract and May Thereby Influence Musculoskeletal Dynamics: A Histochemical and Mechanographic Investigation was published in the journal Frontiers in Physiology and later in the National Library of Medicine.  I’ve included both links for you below.
